I just got a new computer today, and when I finally got it all up and running, I went and downloaded minecraft right away. I clicked on the icon after dragging it onto my desktop and I entered my account info. Everything was going well. I clicked play and the cursor had the loading wheel. I waited for a bit then nothing happened. Nothing happened even though I deleted minecraft, re-installed java, and rebooted my pc multiple times. I have no clue why this is happening, someone please help me.
Refer to the development console. See what it is doing, likely that it has failed several downloads, and requires you to reload the launcher, and click Play again.
You may have to do this several times before all the files are there and will be able to let you play.
