That test is obsolete. Please provide the development console log of the official launcher.
Can you try running the game and screenshotting the error occuring? I may be able to help out with the situation. Thanks!

How can i do this?
I see, the launcher will not show up. This is usually caused by a corrupt installation of Java. Please remove all mentions of Java from the machine via the control panel. Reboot, then grab the latest here http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Please get the 64-bit version if you have a 64-bit machine.

I uninstalled and reinstalled java and this time a window came up once that said there was an error starting up and is going back to the same thing as before where the launcher will not show up
Try this, right click your Minecraft icon, click properties, tell tell me where the file location is at, if any. You may have your icon linked to the wrong application and may need to relink it.

Error starting up. What is stating that? What does it say exactly? Vague descriptions.

Well. delete your .minecraft. And try to run the launcher. I had a similar problem and the way I fixed was by uninstalling Java7 and installing java 6. But a fresh install is the standard fix

I have a problem locating the .minecraft since the appdata feature is a bit different on windoms 8 then windows 7
Now, once you've done this, there is a bar telling you the location of the files you are viewing right now. In this case, it should have a folder icon beside the word "Libraries", then an arrow.
Now type "%appdata%" on the address bar and press enter.
Double click the blank space on the address bar and delete "Libraries"

Are you an admin on your PC? If not, that is the problem. Try right clicking Minecraft, and then clicking "Run as Administrator".
