Unusual lag in 1.7.3+

I have played every minecraft version and in the new updates (1.7.3+) my fps is between 0 - 3 frames.

-Here is my system
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce FX 5200
RAM: 3.5 Gb
CPU: Pentium 4 3.4Ghz hyper-threaded

I have verified that it is not a memory leak because in F3 it is only using 20 - 40% of the memory.

It seems that minecraft in the newer versions is more intensive on me as well. You may want to install optifine light or Ultra it will help you probably quite a bit.

I am using optifine on a flat world with the lowest settings possible and it is still going 1-2 fps
