so i really don't know if this is the right place to post this but i'm having a problem
this computer is a few years old (not sure exactly but at least 4) and i used to get anywhere from 30-60 fps but randomly one time i wasn't on for a while, i get on, and ill get near 30 fps on singleplayer and around 20 on multiplayer and i don't know what happened. I tried cleaning my computer and I deleted a lot of programs, my hard drive was pretty much full and now its half full (64.9 gb free of 140 gb) i tried allocating more ram but whenever i would click run it would just close and open the launcher again and people were talking about like putting the branches or wherever it's located and i had no idea what that was can anyone help?(it starter around when the new launcher came out)
You need a 64-bit version of Java to allocate more than about 1.5 GB of RAM to it.
If you have a 64 bit Windows OS, try uninstalling whatever versions of Java are already there and grabbing the 64-bit one from http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
