Hello, I have been trying to make a custom map but ran across an annoying problem. A certain area of my map would always crash when trying to edit it, unlike any other part of my map. I narrowed the problem down to a 3x3 chunk area, and at least 4 of the 9 are bad but for all I know all 9 are corrupt. I couldn't really identify the problem using an NBT editor and was wondering if someone could identify the cause of the uncooperative chunks. Hopefully since I already found them it won't be too difficult to find. Thanks in advance.
If its a system problem, (which i really don't think it is), here are my specs:
i3570k processor
AMD 7870 Graphics Card
8 GB RAM
Java 7 Update 51 64-bit
Windows 7 64-bit
If your world got corrupted you can try to repair it with MCEdit. Open the offending world in MCEdit, press 'ctrl-i' and select 'Repair regions' in the dialogue which pops up. Once this has completed, save your world and exit MCEdit.
To download MCEdit, go to http://www.mcedit.net/ and choose the version appropriate for your OS

Note that this will reset the chunk.
Hmm... after repairing the regions, trying to change something in the chunks causes MCEdit to crash. Is that just a MCEdit bug or is there something still wrong with the chunks? The window just crashes with no error log. I don't think that worked.

Try to copy what's important in the chunks with MCEDIT, and delete the chunks. then re-add the important stuff.

Thanks, that worked. Was a bit annoying, but sooo much better than having to rebuild everything.
