edit: TL;DR in post 2 involving problem and resolution.
When my minecraft client 'Freezes', the screen will grey-over in the typical way a program freezes in Windows 7/8/8.1 . However, the game doesn't freeze, it just doesn't allow me to interact. If i open a new folder window of any kind within the windows OS, like my computer, or an existing window into a new window, minecraft will 'unfreeze' and allow me to continue.
Steps i've done to fix this problem.
- Delete %appdata%\.minecraft folder
- Re-install and even try new versions of Java
- System Restore
- Defragmentation
- Virus Scan
None of these seem to have fixed it.
The only way i have of getting around this is clicking on the 'File Explorer' shortcut i have on my taskbar, which opens 'My Computer', and then just closing that window, since that satisfies the 'new folder window' trigger that minecraft seems to care about.
This freezing symptom has occured when clicking between programs, ie, chrome, steam, windows explorer, pandora, all programs that run on a different background platform.
I'm at a loss as to what is causing this.
This started after i changed the Owner on C:\ from Trusted Installer to Myself.
My temporary fix, open a new my computer window and close it. This will allow minecraft to work again, for a short time. Could be minutes until you tab out again, or seconds, it's quite random. This is only if you absolutely want Raptr running.
I have since changed the ownership of my C-Drive back to TrustedInstaller and checked for updates on windows. Not sure if the updates did anything, but it seems that the Root drive must be owned by TrustedInstaller, or other system associated parameter for Minecraft to work properly.
tl;dr, it's fixed after changing the C-Drive ownership back to TrustedInstaller ...
Process: Manual search for user, entered " nt service\trustedinstaller " no quotes.
edit: thanks guys, it is raptr causing this, and it just happened when i made other changes, oddly. Reserved post 2 has solution info.

Curse PremiumYes
Some people have been reporting issues with Minecraft whilst using Raptr: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2710787-179-minecraft-not-responding-when-tabbed-out/#entry31908638
Please remove it and see if it persists.
