ERROR: Could not create the java virtual machine.
ERROR: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Hi guys I am tmacfanmike and I have been playing MC for a while perfectly fine. Today I was playing MC then closed it to go eat lunch. When I came back I tried opening MC and found the Error listed above. Please help.
System Specs:
Manufacturer: HP
Model: HP Envy 6 Notebook PC (6-1019NR Sleekbook to be more specific)
Processor: AMD A6-4455M APU with Radeon HD Graphics
GHz: 2.10
RAM: 4.00 GB (3.48 Usable)
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
I also did the JavaDebug and got this:
java version "1.7.0_25"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx3072M
Alright well after a computer restart and a fresh .minecraft folder MC is running fine again.
I also removed the 3 GB allocation to Java.
Thank you for your help. +1 to you

Retired StaffRestarting your computer should resolve the issue.
And I looked up a solution to this and they said to do that for Java.

Retired StaffYes.
Generally not a good idea to set a global variable for allocation, it will cause alot of errors down the line.
I also removed the 3 GB allocation to Java.
