I have a world that I've been playing in 1.6.4. When I load it in 1.7.2 or later, all my items have disappeared (inventory,chests, armor on horses, etc) with the exception of picture frames, which are broken (the items that were in them have also disappeared) The same goes for any areas of the nether that I've checked.
Somewhat strangely, when I travelled to another village I had built in about 1000 blocks away there were still items there.
Fortunately, I made a backup, but it now crashes on startup everytime I try to load in 1.6.4, even with mods disabled (optifine, rei's minimap)
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? or am I stuck starting over as far as items are concerned?
