I don't understand at all! I can't get Minecraft to work with modloader. This is what I did...
1. Downloaded modloader.
2. Opened my latest update to Minecraft using WinRAR.
3. Opened modloader using WinRAR.
4. Deleted the INF file.
5. Copied all files in modloader to the Minecraft .jar folder.
Did I miss a step or did I do something wrong? Please help!!! The INF file is that one file you HAVE to delete I just forgot the name.
What version is this? Modloader hasn't been updated past 1.6.2 and will NOT work for any versions afterwards, no matter what sites like MinecraftDL (which has viruses) claim; this is why you should ONLY download mods from the author's page or site (as in the first link given here), which will tell what versions they are for.
That said, the "INF" file is actually a folder, META-INF, which does need to be deleted regardless if you are installing a mod into the jar. In addition, you have to follow the steps given here or the launcher will simply "update" the jar, overwriting it, if it doesn't match what is on Mojang's servers unless you rename it.
