Hello! Im new to these forums... I came because I am Trying to get the Aether II mod, but I have no .jar file... Ive gone on many other forum posts, they didnt help sooo...
(I have a Windows 7 computer)
One of my friends has the Aether II mod, so I tried to get it. I ran into a few problems though... The only mods I have in my .minecraft folder are Server folders, and the usual Minecraft folders, I have a "bin" folder, but the only folder inside it is backups>temp. I have no .jar file. Im using Skydaz to install the mod but when I run it it says "no .jar file, try running minecraft then retry" Or something like that. So I tried to do what it said, still, it didnt work. So if someone could help that would be great... and if you know the answer to the problem could you explain it in as much detail as possible and make it sound simple? (I'm still a computer noob lmao)
the way minecraft worked was nerfed in 1.6. If your're really new to mods; i would use a installer. They may contain viruses so be careful. AetherII mod has their own launcher; which you can download at their official thread: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1842350-162-alpha-aether-ii-genesis-of-the-void-fixed-launcher-improved-performance/. If your're not so new; which i doubt because of you opening post, install minecraft forge, the installer or the universal, and put all three aether 2 files into the mods folder. don't worry about core mods, they all go into the mods folder now. However don't think installing mods is that easy, this one was an easy example. Mods like shaders need editing of the .json files and editing how minecraft launches; so if your're not up for that, then i suggest you stick with installers. AetherII may require player api so just drop that in the mods folder too!
IN all there is no more minecraft .jar. If your're still looking for it, go into your versions folder and open the folders inside.
Hope this helped
