I'm new to the forums (this is my first post), and I'm having an issue that I haven't been able to find any existing solution to.
I'm running Forge 1.7.2 (so that I can use mods) and my render distance won't improve at all past 8 chunks. So, if I were to set it at 9-16, for example, it won't render any farther than 8 chunks. I even tried installing Optifine 1.7.2 and setting the render distance to 32 chunks (which my computer can easily handle) and there's still no improvement.
The same thing happens when I run normal Minecraft 1.7.2, so I was able to conclude that the problem isn't related to Forge 1.7.2 or any mods; but rather, it's an issue with Minecraft 1.7.2 in general. This conclusion was verified after I did some research and found out that 1.7.2 has a bug in which any render distance set to more than 8 chunks is ineffective (see link here).
So obviously there's a bug that's preventing me from having an effective render distance greater than 8 chunks, but I haven't been able to find a solution or fix to the problem. I really want to get into making some Machinima but I need to be running Forge 1.7.2 for some of the mods I'll be using, so I need to fix this render distance issue.
Does anyone know what to do to fix this? Your comments/feedback are much appreciated.
Best,

Vanilla Minecraft rendering bug that was fixed in Minecraft 1.7.4. But since Forge hasn't updated beyond 1.7.2 yet, we have to live with it, and at least half a dozen other long fixed rendering bugs.
Thank you for your feedback. So, I'm assuming there's nothing to be done then? Also, any chance you know when a later version of Forge is expected to be released?

Forge team was supposedly waiting for Minecraft 1.8, but since that's apparently still months away, rumor has it that Forge 1.7.9 might be made "soon". Nothing concrete beyond that.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
