Hi everyone,
I've recently been busy building a custom map on my single player vanilla world. I've used ladders plenty of times during the building process, but about 30 minutes ago, i tried to place one, but it instantly vanished from the wall and my inventory after i placed it. This kept on happening no matter how many times i tried. I've tested it on my other worlds, and everything seemed fine. I don't know if it's minecraft screwing up or if it's my world being corrupted...

I've tried MCedit to try and get ladders in, and got this purple and black checkered block... Same for setblock, and could not destroy it unless i broke the block it was placed on... Really need help!
Perhaps you could use MCEdit's repair feature to attempt to repair it. Make sure to have a backup.
Open the offending world in MCEdit, press 'ctrl-i' and select 'Repair regions' in the dialogue which pops up. Once this has completed, save your world and exit MCEdit. May also need to remove entities, Open the map in MCEdit, select the affected region or use CTRL-A to select the whole world, then click on 'Delete Entities' in the menu on the left hand side.

I've tried it, and it didn't work, sadly... Whatever, i guess i'll just have to live without it. :/ Thanks for trying though! Appreciate the effort.
