I believe the Minecraft Servers are Down.
The servers seem to keep switching on and off for me, i constantly keep checking random sites, that i found VIA google about Minecraft Server Status such as Login Servers and such.
I just tried to get on moments ago. I have no idea if this is what is causing your problem because i dont remember if you get the exact line as "failed to connect to server. failed to log in. the authentication are currently down for maintenance" but im sure it should be around those lines.

I am getting this for about 9 different servers what is going on??
