This has only happened twice, but it's starting to freak me out.
I had made a couple of animal pens (like ya' do) and the first one I ever made was a medium-sized pen for chickens. I went off to do other things like collecting iron and, you know, go mining, and when I returned to my pen it looked like half of it had despawned with chickens roaming around and outside of where the fences had disappeared. Tall grass that I had previously cleared up showed up again too and it was tedious to fix up again, let alone annoying to go and remake the fences that had inexplicably disappeared.
I thought it was just a random glitch with the fences, but this time it happened to my pig pen and I see that it's affecting my whole terrain: Beside the pen was a small pond that had the bottom knocked out and lead into a cavern. When half of my pen disappeared so did the pond. It seemed like that whole patch of land just regenerated and this time it replaced the pond with dirt, like the game deleted it or just regenerated that patch. I was able to get into the cavern through another opening and sure enough the large stream that came from the pone was omitted from the cavern and the ceiling was just a solid patch of dirt. I also noticed that some ore that I had previously mined reappeared again, but only in that particular area, as the rest of the cavern seemed to be fine.
I notice on both times that it's happened to certain locations that I hadn't visited in a while but I was always pretty close, as in the areas were always near my line of site. It feels random, and now I'm sort of terrified to leave my home because I'm afraid of the possibility of my crops or even half of my home just suddenly disappearing one day. Is anyone else having this problem? Maybe not whole patches of land regenerating, but maybe with the fences?
sounds like you had a chunk reset back, it seems to happen now and then, unfortunately unless you have a backup the only fix is to manually rebuild what was lost.
Is that what that is? Damn. Well hopefully I won't run into it again and if I do I hope it doesn't happen near anything important. I should backup everything anyways. Thanks!

Thank's in advance.
