I have run into this problem many, many times and I would LOVE for it to be fixed.
I'll explain what goes on.
First off I open up the client and I play the game, it runs smoothly for 5 minutes then freezes for maybe 10 minutes so I wait to save and exit so after the save and exit is over it comes to the menu where you select what save you want to load or whatever, but the lag continues so I turn off my laptop, restart it, open minecraft to continue working on my project and it is no longer an option to load. It's like it was deleted but it wasn't. How do I know? I went to profile editor opened the game directory and went to saves and what wasn't in the game was here in the saves but not in the actual world selecting.
I don't know who else has this problem but it should be addressed.
The save disappears if it is corrupted in a certain way. It sounds like the game is running very poorly on your system for whatever reason. When the lag persists after you've saved and exited the game has probably not completely terminated, not completely finished saving. Then when you power down the save gets corrupted.
oh okay :/ is there some program yall can create or special servers made specifically to house back ups of the last save prior to the one just made? I personally think that would be a great thing to have in events such as this.
