Solution I found ; Disable Vsync and set priority to high
Downside ; IT BREAKS MY COMPUTER ( and stops working after 5-10 minutes, AND makes the computer lag horribly, causing explorer.exe to not respond, along with Google Chrome and other such processes. Task Manager, however, does work. )
Yes, I tried to reduce lag and get my FPS from 5-15 to 40-70+ but the only thing that happens is this ;
1. I disable vsync
2. I set priority to high ( javaw.exe )
3. I play minecraft smoothly with a couple of lag spikes for around 5-10 minutes
4a. The FPS is back to 5-10 ( no longer going higher )
4b. Google Chrome's window disappears and re-appears
4c. Minecraft is the only thing that responds, explorer.exe is really laggy too
4d. Javaw.exe takes up 1,000,000 kilobytes
5. Prolonged use causes intense lag or a bsod
6. Closing minecraft at any given time seems to end all side-effects.
So I ask of you ; What in the world do I do to get 40-60 FPS w/o causing everything else to die.
( pro tip ; this never happened before on older, worse computers. )
TLDR : Vsync don't work and makes a BSOD happen. How do I fix this.
It sounds like your computer is overheating if running the game uncapped causes it to slow down and even crash after 5-10 minutes; that said, Vsync shouldn't cause such a big reduction in framerate, it is supposed to lock it to your monitor's refresh rate (usually 60).
Also, how much memory does your computer have (free memory while playing)? General system lag can be due to disk swapping from running out of physical RAM. 1 GB of memory used by Java is normal for Minecraft; it uses about that much for me even with 512 MB allocated (note that Java uses additional memory besides what is allocated/displayed in-game (F3), which doesn't include memory needed by OpenGL and other stuff).
Your allocating too much memory, causing your computer to explode. Well, almost. Try allocating less, 350-400 MB is good.
I seem to have a full 4 GB on my cpu, and 3/4 of it seems to be running currently (when I have and had alot of stuff up, I usually restart my CPU around now), And running around 375 MB onto the game made it worse- this time without having the 60 fps, instead having 4-7 FPS, even without Vsync on.

Strange, Vsync seems to do the opposite of what it is suppost to?
Like I said, I have 4 GB on my CPU, But around 1GB-2GB free while playing.
With 375 MB allocated (see above post), It takes up around 451,000 KB, or roughly 440 MB ( 0.4 GB )

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
