I will also mention that you SHOULD NOT (DO NOT DO IT) upgrade to windows 8.1, as your graphics card is NOT supported in windows 8.1 and you will get the same error again, but it can't easily be fixed, stick to 8
Your computer can not work with windows 8.1, the hardware is to old and no drivers are available, please install the windows version that came with the computer. but then saying that the computer itself is below the required specs to run minecraft.
Also next time please make your own thread instead of necromancy of old dead threads
