Hi. New here. Anyway, I've been playing Minecraft 1.7.2 for months now and everything seems to work fine until last week when I click on the game, it said "Updating Launcher" and nothing happened. The game wouldn't load or start and I don't know what's wrong. I tried clicking on the game again and still the same thing.
I tried uninstalling it and deleting it. I re-downloaded and installed the game. But when I click on the game it said, "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable". I've tried uninstalling, deleting, downloading and re-installing again and again. Nothing seems to work. It's always either "Upadting Launcher" and nothing happens or "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable".
Sometimes it said, "Windows cannot findC:\Users\Samsung\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\minecraft launcher\Minecraft Launcher.exe". I've updated Java by the way. I just don't know what to do right now. Can any of you guys help? And please go easy on me cause English is not my best language nor am I that good with computers. I'm using Windows 8 by the way. Hope you guys can help. Please and Thank you.
Next, you'll want to make a back-up of all the files you find. Once you've done that, delete it all and launch Minecraft once more. Hopefully it'll start up! Try the above and post back with the results.

First, you'll want to locate the .minecraft folder shown in the error "C:\Users\Samsung\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\"
