I installed Minecraft about a week ago, and all worked fine . Now I can't launch the program. When I click on the program launcher, all I get is an outline of a window. I have deleted the launcher and downloaded fresh. ..uninstalled and reinstalled Java....with no change. HELP! I tried it on a different computer and it works fine/.
Click the windows sign. Type in "%appdata%," then click Roaming. Then click on the .minecraft file. Make sure to remove your worlds and put them in again when your done! You then take that file, and delete it. Then start the game by clicking play in the launcher, which will download a brand now .minecraft file!
I copied the "saves" folder to the desktop and deleted the "minecraft" folder,. opened the launcher, but I still get the minecraft launcher window with nothing in it...I see only the outline of the window with a transparent view of the desktop. I am running CHKDSK /R now and then will try again.
After running CHKDSK I still get a transparent window but I noticed another transparent window slightly smaller than the launcher inside. I grabbed it(the launcher window) and began to move it and suddenly it turned into the login, black with blocks for user ID and password, however, I couldn't enter anything. Any ideas as to what may be happening? This operating system is Windows XP Pro SP3.
