Whenever I launch Minecraft, I bump into what is called a fatal java error. This is apparently caused by a nullpointer exception, and it prevents me from starting up Minecraft. I have done a lot of research on this, but have not found any results particularly helpful. However I have found out that the nullpointer exception is a very common error in java programming, and that it is fixable. Unfortunately, the videos I have watched regarding this give very vague explanations, in addition to an overwhelming terminology. Regardless, I'll try to attach the full error report somehow.
Also, it may be worth mentioning that recently bought a new Asus Ux32a which runs Windows 8, and that I never experienced this error on my previous laptop. My specs are: Intel i5 core @ 1.70GHz, 6 Gb RAM, 64 bit OS and HD graphics 4000 GPU.
(I have checked several times that I have the latest version of Java.)

Above is my attempt at including the error report.
