Hello everyone, I've been playing in a SMP map for awhile with a buddy of mine in 1.7.9.
I've been getting some really long delays within the past few days on things like opening chest, getting into minecarts and placing items in item frames. Sometimes this delay can last up to ten seconds before I get any sort of response.
I had suspected Hamachi at first, but the lag also persist when I'm playing alone without opening to LAN. When I do open to LAN my friend gets kicked frequently, which up until a couple of days ago never happened.
Here's my hardware:
- 8 GB of ram
- i7 processor
- AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series GPU
- 64-bit OS
Here's a list of things I've already tried:
- Reinstalled Minecraft.
- Reinstalled and Updated 64-bit Java. (Version 1.7.2.0_25)
- Lowered Video Settings.
- Closed all major resource consuming proccesses in Task Manager.
- Downloaded Optifine Mod.
- Updated AMD GPU driver.
- Used CCleaner.
- Allocated 2G of Ram to Java, (-Xmx2G Console Command)
- Set "Javaw.exe" to high priority in the proccesses section of the task manager.
- Stopped additional "Javaw.exe" processes.
- Reset network connection several times.
- Switched network channels (AT&T Uverse)
Still, after all this, I'm getting crazy long delays. It makes playing this game very frustrating.
If there's a more appropriate forum to post this in please point me in the right direction so I can get this fixed. Thank you.
Maybe it's connection lag, Is the server hosted far away from you? Or it could just be your internet.

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them,
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie
It's a world I've created in singleplayer, so I don't really know if I'm connected to any sort of server unless Mojang creates one for your world that I'm unaware of. I've opened it to LAN more than a few times so my friend could join, though.
As far as my connection goes, everything else seems to be working fine. I've included a speed test in my original comment.
