Since I have gotten a different computer, I have had lag spikes (Its been around 4 months now. They are really annoying and they happen randomly (not a heartbeat). They can sometimes happen from every second to about a minute. They usually last about a second or sometimes even less. My specs are: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8600 2.4 GHz, RAM: 6GB (ive tried allocating as low as 384 MB and as much as 3 GB, neither helped) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, OS: Windows Vista 64-bit. It is a laptop, but my old laptop was worse and had no lag spikes. I have Java 7 64-bit and I have even tried Java 8 64-bit but it didn't help. Optifine does not help (It only gives me more fps but doesn't reduce spikes). I have all drivers updated. Without minecraft my CPU usage is around 5% so I doubt the problem is background programs. On max settings i can run about 50 fps and on min settings i can run around 100 fps (with optifine). I have noticed that if i stay in one area the lag spikes become less frequent (maybe chunk loading issues?) I hope someone can help me (I have also noticed that when i play FTB, it is more frequent especially when I open chests)
