Hey guys. I am new to this site but I think I got the rules down. That aside I am sorry if I miss something. Anyway the problem I am having is this. I downloaded a map and put it in my saves folder. Launched it with no problems a all. Spent a lot of time editing it and wanted to keep it. Enter the problem I needed to re-install windows on this computer and as said wanted to keep the file. So I so I saved it and re-installed windows. After installing Minecraft I moved the saved file into the saves file. I can start the game fine and get to the select a world page. However, every time I try and play the selected world I get a blank page of brown tiles like the background and then the window closes. From there the launcher opens up and presents a Minecraft Crash Report. I have been looking all over the place trying to figure out what is the problem and have come up empty handed. I spent a lot of time messing with this project and I don't want to loose it. If anyone could give me a hand that would be great. Again I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place or it is a simple fix that I missed.

Hey mate, I did what you suggested. I am not sure if it matters but the session.lock file was in the saved file itself not the saves file in .minecraft. When I deleted it the map started. However, I did not recognize the area of the map I was in when I last saved, that being said I have never really explored the map other than the area I was working. So it could be the map or it could not be. At the same time in bar below was all of the items that I had been working with so the main map is still in there somewhere. Again I apologize for my lack of knowledge but should I not spawn where I was when I last saved the game? And if I should do you have any other suggestions as to how to restore the map?
