My girlfriend and I installed Mo' Creatures after playing in the Twilight Forest and wanting that level of wildlife in the our overworld map. We soon realised that we're not really fans of Mo' Creatures, especially after a scorpion annihilated our cows and an ogre rampaged through our town.
We uninstalled Mo Creatures, but now no hostile mobs will spawn at all. Is there any way I can fix this? Will forcing an update and reinstalling our other mods work? Or is it something within the world save itself?
Thanks
*edit* So it seems it's hostile mobs and squid that aren't spawning, I'm still seeing sheep and wolves.
The only solution I have found is to reinstall mo creatures and turn off all the mobs you don't want. If you only want vanilla mobs, set all the others to 0. Click options>global mod options>mo creatures. There you can set how many of every mob spawns. BTW it is a world problem not an install problem. I've tried reinstalling and the world was still messed up.
The problem I had with mo creatures is I tried to install it into the Feed The Beast modpack, and couldn't get any sound from the creatures. I even tried installing the sound mod, which isn't required anymore. Also, they may not instantly de-spawn, so don't get impatient when you set them all to 0.
It happens to me too, hostile mobs not spawning at all. What I did, I reinstalled back mo creatures, then enabled only the vanilla mobs. Then I played the game for 10-20 minutes to make sure the mobs are spawning correctly, then I uninstalled mo creatures again.. everything is fine and dandy afterwards..

Go into the FTB launcher, and click the "edit modpack" button. It'll be the first button in the middle-top of the launcher window. It will open the "mod pack editor" window. You'll see a list of enabled mods on the left. Scroll down that list until you find "integratedsoundpacks". Highlight that and then click "Disable". Run FTB as usual. You will now have the Mo's creatures noises playing.
I had this same problem. If you have cheats enabled, type /gamerule doMobSpawning true and it should fix the hostile mobs not spawning. If you don't have cheats enabled, go to Open to LAN --> Allow Cheats On and then type the above.
I know that fixes the hostile mobs not spawning but not sure about the friendly mobs... In my world there are no sheep, cows or pigs spawning in the wild (i.e. not the ones I originally captured near my house). If someone knows how to fix friendly mobs not spawning that would be great.
Edit: I installed the Custom Mob Spawner and clicked "reset to default" for all mobs. It looks like all my mobs are spawning normally again.
How could I get this to work on my server? I made the mistake of installing it and not only does mod crash the server, it also disables normal mobs from spawning after I removed the mods. It also keeps spamming my server log with this:
I had this problem too and your solution to type /game rule worked, could not find a solution anywhere else so thanks. My problem happened after having mo creatures on too.

THANK YOU!
After downloading some mods that put more hostile mobs into the game, I noticed all the vanilla hostile mobs (creepers, zombies, skeletons etc) stopped spawning, and certain hostile mobs in the mods weren't being hostile at all. I typed in the command you listed and not only did it make all the normal mobs as well as the modded mobs spawn, it made the ones that weren't attacking me become hostile! Thank you! It's been boring as all hell with only modded hostiles spawning in, with only half of them actually attacking me.
