Okay so i know this is under off topic but i couldn't find another place to put it. I have been playing minecraft on my school laptop and recently it has been getting laggy. I assumed that was because of the mods that i had installed. So i looked at how much RAM I had and i was almost full. So i put my .minecraft folder onto a flashdrive. it worked for a while but now it isn't. My drive is 8gb so i don't know what's wrong. I don't know if anyone can help me with this but if you can please do.
Thanks,

Putting it on a flashdrive isn't going to help. It's used for storage, not extra RAM.
Just uninstall your mods and put minecraft back where it was.
Otherwise, you could try buying more RAM for your computer, or just play Minecraft on a different one.
As others have stated, using a flash drive wouldn't help with RAM.
Some solutions?
Install OptiFine. Make sure to exit out of ALL unneeded programs and applications.
Also, you can try and dedicate more RAM to Minecraft.

Put it back in AppData. And remove the mods.
This is a legacy account, meaning it is no longer active
i ran out of RAM so i put it on the flashdrive
