My MC 1.7.2 has been lagging a lot lately. It lags, stops responding, and I'm forced to close it. A windows pops up saying "Java(TM) ... ... is not responding" or something like that, then it closes. I figured it had to have something to do with my Java, so I updated it. I also checked if my nVidia drivers were up to date, and they were. I also found that changing Render Distance to Normal would remove the lag, and it worked for awhile. I was able to play lag-free for about 5 minutes until the same things I mentioned earlier started happening again.
