Hey, I'm at a loss here, and have no idea what do to. I get terrible FPS on Feast The Beast, even with Optifine. I was getting about 50fps before when I had Windows 7. Since upgrading to 8.1, it's almost unplayable. Here are my specs (Not great, but they've worked fine for FTB in the past)
AMD A6-3420M 1.5GHZ 4 cores Overclocked to 2.4 + AMD Radeon HD 7670M 1gb
AMD Radeon HD 6520 crossfire enabled
6gb Ram.
I've made sure that I have all of the proper drivers for everything, I'm definitely up to date with all the software needed. My guess, is it's a Java issue regarding Windows 8.1 compatibility. I've tried the new Java 8 x64, as well as the Java 7 55 update x64, and all of the x86 versions as well. But still, it's nearly unplayable. Vanilla Minecraft as well has taken a hit. I used to get around 90fps, now it's about 40.
No crashing issues, my laptop is only a year old now. No hardware failures, or overheating problems. I've tried compatibility mode for other Windows versions. And still nothing has seemed to fix it. I've even deleted all of my FTB content, and reinstalled (Which helped), I was originally getting 4fps, after transfering all the files directly from when it was Windows 7. After I clean install it's up to about 10, sometimes 20. Even if all of the graphics settings cranked down completely. I have been playing on fancy, maxed out, 4gb allocated, far render distance with no problems in the past. And I've also tried allocating different amount of ram too, but still nothing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks
