I am new to this modding thing. I downloaded minecfraft forge the newest one. Out of all the videos I have watched it never gives troubleshooting. after downloading forge I go into the minecfaft launcher and click on the profile forge and the version says minecraft 1.7.2 Forge 10.12.1.1060. and after I hit play nothing happens. it just stays on the launcher screen and it doesn't boot up forge.
I am running the newest version of windows 8 and I have minecraft 1.7.9.
I need help what to do. I have watched videos about deleting files and such called the meta file and I don't know where to delete it because it gives me different options instead of bin file it gives me the versions file. I go into that and it gives me the options to look at all the versions I have and options to go into the executable jar files, I have see dragging files into different places and such I am not sure what to do, what do I do to make this work.
Ultimately I am trying to get the fossil and archeology mod.
