I haven't really opened my minecraft folder since I started modding so I have no idea how long it's been like this... but when I try to open my main minecraft game, I get this error:
The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted. The system cannot find the specified path.
I tried deleting the .minecraft folder but that didn't fix the issue (as the installer itself won't run) so I restored it.as for actual mods, I only have forge installed.I had a LOT of trouble getting forge and eclipse (for modding) to work for minecraft so I'm afraid I might have deleted or corrupted something while trying to compile the gradlew files.I was following one tutorial and it said something about deleting META INF.... so that might be the problem.is there a way I can uninstall/reinstall the game in order to get the updater to work again?
EDIT: also, downloading the exe from the site doesn't work...
EDIT2: I had 2 types of java (7 and 8)... I removed both and I'm still getting the error. What's worse is that now I can't even open eclipse to play/mod through it.... now I'm really screwed as I can't access Minecraft at all
I tried reinstalling a 64 bit version of java, but that didn't work either.
EDIT3: I fixed it. I ended up going through my registry and cleaning out several unused javasoft files
