I have been building a pretty decent city on my Minecraft Bukkit server, and I am hosting it on a network called HostHorde. Well, I realized that I wanted to build underground freeways, subways, and other things underground. So I used Multiverse to make a new world with a deeper world. So no big deal. And I tried to copy and paste the entire city (yeah, pretty stupid I know) with WorldEdit that was about 4 million blocks, onto the ground level in the deeper world.
Even when I typed in copy, it crashed my entire server, I read on my hosting network that the plan I was currently using has 2 GB of memory and decent CPU usage, and the usage was over. And so, I upgraded to the next server plan, which was unlimited CPU and memory. And it STILL crashed with all that usage. I have searched the entire internet to do this a different way.
And I finally came to doing it in chunks and different areas of the city. But of course, it crashed a third time. So I got a plugin called "SafeEdit" which pastes blocks at a slow pace to reduce lag. But it is an old version and it does not support undo, or anything. And so I pasted a decent size chunk, and it left straight line cuts in the ground. Now they are all over in that chunk I pasted. It also sometimes does not even include the entire paste I copied from the original world. And to add on to it, I have tried doing Schematics, and it does not work again.
I literally have tried almost everything, and I really want to paste it in this world. So don't say that I should give up, because I don't want to, but only if there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.
