So, I'm running the argrarian skies (feed the beast) modpack. And I get 1-3 FPS. Lowest video settings, on a skyblock type map, with optifine!
I don't know what causes my performance to be THAT bad. I did format my hard drive (specs at the bottom) recently, and before that I was running FTB monster on a non skyblock map (meaning It's much more demanding for the computer), with optifine on average video settings. My FPS was at around 30.
After I formatted my hard drive, I also tried launching vanilla minecraft to see my FPS and ingame on the lowest video settings again (non skyblock or superflat), and my FPS was at around 30.
I know my laptop isn't horrible, but I have no idea why is my fps so low, I also tried using (and not using) a game booster (razer game booster). But that doesn't seem to help, my computer is tuned to max energy usage max preformance.

6GB RAM (3.5GB allocated)
2.2Ghz proccessor (intel i3 2nd gen)
Age - 2 years
Free hard drive space - 521GB
OS - windows 7 home premium 64 bit
Java - Java 7 update 51 64 bit
Brand - HP (if relevant)

I've got the same problem, only that it's like that in my vanilla aswell.
I have an HP Pavillon with almost the same specs as yours only mine isn't a laptop....
My Minecraft fps is permanently around 0-3 fps.
