Ok so I have trying to figure out this problem for over a month now and I have found no answers.
So here is how the problem goes:
I can't see my own custom player skin in singleplayer or multiplayer. My skin is only Steve, even on April Fools day it was Steve, not a villager.
✓ I usually play Pixelmon and have Optifine installed ✓ Yes I have deleted my .minecraft and reloaded a new one ✓ Yes I have closed and restarted my client and launcher ✓ Yes I have a legit account ✓ No my account isn't hacked (or I hope it isn't) ✓ Yes I use a anti-virus software: AVG ✓ Yes I allowed Java and Minecraft through the firewall
• I use Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1 • Processor can without a doubt support Minecraft • 32 GB of Memory • 64bit operating system
Additional Information: This problem only seems to be happening on my custom built computer. On my alternate laptops I have played Minecraft and I can see my own skin and everything runs normal.
Please assist, I have no idea how to fix this and what else to do.
I had the same problem too.
I installed a very powerful firewall (Online Armor)
It's too powerful, way to complicated for me.
Realised my skin was a steve, tried to let minecraft through my firewall, still a steve.
So i just used Windows Firewall.
Everything is kept default.
It works.
(What sort of Firewall do you use? Did it come from AVG?)
Hmm I was thinking about that too.
I have my default Window's firewall, however when I downloaded AVG it decided to take over and run the firewall.
I can try to switch it back to the default Window's firewall.
[Edit]
Turns out it didn't work when I disabled it :/
