Ok I just purchased minecraft so that I could play with my friends on the server that I have been running for them for a while, kindof backwards I know but I wasn't sure if I wanted to play the game myself. In any case I downloaded the Feed the Beast launcher and selected the DireWolf20 modpack (latest version) to play. It downloaded all of the files that it needed, started minecraft 1.6.4 and let me connect to the server. Once I'm in the server though that's where the issue begins, I am not able to put any items that I craft into the world. So for example I get a log, from that log I create 4 planks, from those 4 planks I create a table. I put that table into my quick select inventory, select a spot in the world to drop it, right click, it appears and then an instant later it disappears. When it disappears I get the log straight back into my inventory like I never broke it down into boards to be used for the table. This happens both in single player and multiplayer. Here's what I've tried so far:
1) Removing all previous Java installs and only having one Java installed in this case Java 7 update 51 64 bit, after which I restarted my PC
2) Deleted the ftblauncher folder in appdata and in the folder
3) Deleted the .minecraft folder in the appdata folder
4) Run ftblauncher as admin
5) Tried the same test in single player mode as opposed to multiplayer mode
6) Deleted the ftb launcher folder that it created, created a new one without spaces (the launcher itself resides on my desktop)
I'm really not sure what else to try to fix this problem and frankly it's pretty frustrating since the main reason I purchased this game was to play with my friends. Sure I can get on the server I run with them but I can't create anything which is pretty much the whole point of minecraft. One other note, for some reason I do not see the server when it scans for LAN games even though the server is local to me. I can connect to it via the external dyndns address I have setup for it and through the server's local IP address but it doesn't come up on a scan. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. If there's any additional info that I can post that can help in fixing this problem I'd appreciate it.
