So, here's an interesting thing that's been happening to me ever since I moved from 1.6.2 to 1.7.2. After generating a new world (or even loading an older one), there is a 1/5 (or so) chance of the game sending me back to my original spawn point with no items, armor or experience. The world itself is still intact, and any builds or items I have in chests are all still there, but if it were in my inventory, it's gone.
I've searched all over the net for a possible cause to this problem, and I've see people suggest leaving items in chests before logging out (to avoid losing them upon re-entering the world), and while this seems to work, it's 4000+ from spawn to get back home again on my world... which is a bit ridiculous to have to get back to every time I decide to load this save. It's mostly over dense forests and huge mountains. Not fun. Honestly, I built this far away because, after 20+ successful saves, I thought the problem had fixed itself. Yeah, no.
The mods I have downloaded are:
Biomes o Plenty for 1.7.2
Dr Zharks Mo' Creatures for 1.7.2 (DEV version)
Dr Zharks Custom Mob Spawner for 1.7.2 (DEV version)
Optifine for 1.7.2
Voxel's Map for 1.7.2
I run the game with Magic Launcher, with the Environment set to: 1.7.2-Forge10.12.0.1024.
Yes, I have run vanilla 1.7.2 before trying to use Forge.
Yes, I have run previous versions (1.6.4) using the same method as 1.7.2, and no problems.
Yes, I made sure each mod fully downloaded before adding them to my mods folder and Magic Launcher.
Yes, I have used MC Patcher to patch 1.7.2.
Yes, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Minecraft and all the mods + Forge.
No, there is no error or crash log whenever I log out or into my save/world.
No, I don't receive any in-game warnings about mod incompatibility or the like.
No, it doesn't happen every time I load my save/world.
My only work-around for this problem is to continuously generate new worlds until I spawn into an area I would consider building onto. My 'home' would be right at spawn, so I would put any items I have into chests before logging out. I shouldn't have to play this way. I should be able to go wherever I want, and build without worrying about my game spitting me back out at spawn.
Without a crash log to share, hopefully I've provided enough information to get some help. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? What should I do?
Really? No one has any idea what's going on with my game?
I tried loading up Minecraft with the vanilla launcher, mods downloaded, and this problem still persists. The DEV version of Mo' Creatures has nothing to do with it - I ran the game with and without those two mods, and it still logs me back in at spawn with no items/exp/armor.
hey, good to see someone else with this problem. I actualy took my forge log and put it into a drop box, I have alot more mods than you, but the only two we have in common is Optifine and Forge, I've seen one other post and they had Forge and Pnumaticraft. I tried deleting Pnumaticraft and going back to an older version of forge (I wanna say like 1205 or something, originaly 1208)... still had the problem. I made a new world and went a bit away from my spawn, but I also have Zans minimap (meaning I'm running with LightLoader) so I can teleport back to my home. Ive got a horrible feeling that it might have something to do with running modded Minecraft with some sort of external launcher/mod like Magiclauncher/MCPatcher/Lightloader... I'm afraid to open up the world (dispite having put everything into a chest before logging out) only to have been reset to my spawn.
If anyone with any modding experience can help, I have my recent log here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p993bmd7wqtnyq2/latest.log?dl=0 that you can pick thru. I'm also going to skip on over to minecraftforge.net and post something/look thru there for a solution... cross your fingers and pray that someone comes up for a solution, or Mojang will loose another player due to a bug (even tho its from a mod)
Edit: So, I've made a post on the forge forum, if you want to go ahead and watch it to try and find a solution, you can find it here: http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php/topic,23252.0.html hopefully someone can help us, or, I just might never play minecraft again

I have this damn problem..OMG , I had LOTS of Tinker's construct items.. And I can't be arsed to make them again, omfg!!!! I'm on 1.7.10... It's a forge related problem, I had this problem pretty often in 1.7.2 forge and I used to place all my items in a chest. Now it happend again in 1.7.10 and omg.. I think my thaumcraft 4 research is GONE
EDIT: Nope... Research still there "yay" but TC and iChun hats are gone.. FML
Dear Costelush And Pandapop, I believe I have found the problem with this bug. I believe it is the way that forge handles being launched via an external launcher/having something pached into it, such as Magic Launcher, MCPatcher, and Light Loader. I have (with 3 successful tests, keeping my inventory and levels as well as the location I quit in) possibly found the solution.
To fix the problem, simply load minecraft with the Forge profile in your normaly Vanilla Launcher. it may be a bit harder getting your mods to work, but once you learn to get them into the mods folder, it should would better/just as good as with MagicLauncher/MCPatcher! Please, if this worked, spread the news of how you solved this problem. I have asked the creator of Forge to look into this and see if its a problem in his code or if its something to do with the launchers/patchers
I don't use MCPatcher or MagicLauncher, I just use ATLauncher. And I don't think it's about forge handling the mods but I believe it might be something with the worlds... Back in 1.7.2 I used to have this problem often and I was placing all my stuff into a chest to prevent the items getting deleted... Anyway , some day I loaded the world just as I usually do and I have got the items back (The ones that were gone from the beginning). If this happend , then it's something wrong with the worlds being loaded, something about internal servers...Like for example my account was duplicated into more of them...And the new duplicate account could not be hooked up with the "old" account account cause it was like a "different username"(or different UUID i think?). It's just my theory after experiencing this problem. I hope it will get fixed cause I don't know if the logs are showing this... Cheers.
I think its Forge. You say that your using using a 3rd party launcher. I think forge doesn't like being launched via some launcher that isn't FTB (no experience, don't plan on using it any time soon), or Vanilla. and it doesn't like having something else patched into it (like MCPatcher, and Lightloader). So, other than that I don't know what the problem is
