I didn't know exactly where to put this, but I feel like this is a good spot. I've been playing voltz for awhile now, and have played on two separate servers. Both times, after I get a little developed, I get INTENSE fps "lag". I don't know why, and I have tried everything. I have a great computer, and it is definitely not the gpu. I think I've tracked down what might be causing it, but I have little idea of what it means. I am hoping you guys could help me out.
Now, with the optifine mod, I've managed to run this thing called the "lagometer", which kinda pinpoints what's causing my lag. I was going to upload a few screenshots, but I can't figure out how. Anyways, I'll describe it the best I can.
Now, the lagometer has 3 different categories of "lag" which is red, white, and green. Red is chunk loading, which is obvious fps drop when loading a new area. This isn't the problem. White is "ticks", I don't really know what that means, but it is fairly low as well. And last and worst color of them all, green. Green is "frame rendering + internal server", and this sky rockets whenever I'm in my base. I get around 3-8 fps while in there, and the weird part is after a tiny bit it will go back to 15-20, which is PERFECT, but then will crap on me again. If I leave and head a little ways out, I get around 50-90 fps. Messing around with the optifine options, I've determined it's not my gpu. No matter how much I crank up the graphics, the green never changes, so it has to be something else. I've updated and reinstalled my heart out. But alas, to no avail, nothing has changed.
My specs:
64-bit java and windows
Amd FX-8120 Eight core processor 3.10 GHz
Amd Radeon HD 6850 series
8 gigs of ram, I've messed around with allocating and whatnot, nothing happens.
I'm thinking maybe there's a compatibility issue? I have no idea. Even a 10 fps increase would mean the world. Thanks guys!
