Ive been having this problem ever since my brother gave me the idea of playing modded minecrafts. which has been pretty much 2 year.
so heres the run down. Its mainly FTB that does this. ill be playing normally... then out of nowhere could be 2 minutes since i launched it or 15 minutes. my computer will crash... straight up crash. and other than that, when my pc crashes it would be either a cyan or cream color crash screen. then if i dont physically restart my computer itll restart itself after a minute.
i dont think my java is the problem, i have 64 bit update 51. 8 gigs of ram, and i use 4ram for it. by the way im running the monsters mod pack in FTB if that means anything.
My Pc specs. Ram: 8 Gigs
graphics card: GeForce GTX 570
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
When i google the problem all i find is "my minecraft client crashed" or something around that... and i cant specify this enough ITS NOT THE CLIENT ITSELF THAT CRASHES, ITS MY WHOLE COMPUTER!
If your whole computer is crashing then i would look at either the temps of the system, or the ram.
Does your computer crash any other times? What if your running something that is RAM intensive?
Monitor the CPU and GPU temps and see if they go too high before the crash, if they do more cooling should fix it.
As for RAM its alot harder to diagnose, http://www.memtest.org/ memtest is very good, but it requires knowledge of ISO burning and alot of time.
It could be that part of one of the RAM chips is faulty, but the faulted area isn't normally accessed (hence stable system) but when FTB runs the usage gets upto that damaged area and corruption occurs, and bang, crash. (I personally had this happen myself, took me a while to figure out)
alright, im getting new graphics cards on march 21st. ill swap my current ones out for the new ones and play ftb. if ftb still crashes then... i guess ill reply back here again
