So, today I have installed all new MC. I have installed a fresh jar file with Modloader, Optifine, TMI and Custom Recipes as a Mod.
When I start off in a world, I get a little spike, but that's very common for my PC. I then proceed to get the items out of the chest, little do you know, I can't select the item. I thought it was a problem with my mouse, so I use my pad (I use a netbook), it still won't work. I then try to shift-click, it doesn't work too! The only way I can transfer items is to hold my mouse and drag it across the GUI; but it has the weird glitch where the number of stacks appear on the top-right of the item, though.
I tried restarting MC, restarting the whole PC. None of them worked.
Please help, I'm very enthusiast to play Minecraft right now. It would very appreciated.

Additional details:
I can't right click to half up the stack either, I tried everything. I'm going to disable some mods to see if it's the problem.
Do you have touchscreen mode on? .-.
This tends to be a common problem. Don't really see HOW, as it is disabled by default...
You sir had the perfect timing. I was just searching for solutions, and it says "Did you turned on Touchscreen?" I was like Pfft, no way. Then I checked in my options, and it was on .__.

Thank you so much! I do not even know how Touchscreen Mode got enabled for me (as I do not recall enabling it recently, and yet it just cropped up not long ago). It was really starting to get me mad, as there just seems to be something about PC input-related malfunctions that just stirs me up like crazy...but you saved my sanity...and perhaps my keyboard as well. Notch bless you.
Um, when I press my left shift to add things into my chest, I CANT! I've asked like everyone if they know how to fix it, they either said "Restart your game" or "I don't know" I'm like so mad. Can anyone help me?:)
hello i have the same issue... my 10 yr old... used to be able to click on an item and click where she wanted it to go... now she cant... its especially troublesome in hunger games for her.... my touchscreen is on... we have restarted... i see in controls its now set to pick up block for button 3... and that works... and i guess she can get used to that... however before she didnt have to..... is there a way to set that for none?
