I recently got minecraft for my son. He's been playing Vanilla
for awhile. But now he has discovered mods. I know this is an
older computer, so I would like to know is it'll be able to
run these Mods without any problems?
My Specs are:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit OS
RAM is 1.00GB
Intel Core 2 6300 - 1.86GHz 1.86GHz
Graphics card Intel G965 Express Chipset Family
I have mincraft 1.6.4
Would like to be able to install these below.
Minecraft Forge
Optifine
Furniture Mod for Minecraft
Rei’s Minimap Mod for Minecraft
Biomes O’ Plenty Mod
Mo’Creatures Mod
Familiars Mod
BiblioCraft Mod
Carpenter Blocks Mod
The Twilight Forest Mod
Tree Capitator Mod
MoarFood Mod
You could try, but I bet that will lag a lot.
Best you by a new PC.
With that old Computer, you maybe not even be able to update to Vanilla 1.7.4 and above
My laptop has the G965 (Intel X3100 Extreme graphics), a T7100 Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz and 2GB ram and can get about 15-40 FPS on TechWorld (1.6.4) Feed the Beast modpack.
However the issue here, that laptop only has 1GB of ram. Minus 386MB of that for the OS and 64MB for the Graphics buffer. That does not leave much for Minecraft to use.
Mo Creatures may not work at all and Biomes O Plenty most certainly wont either.

I would not suggest using optifine as it may not work, it seems even all the Feed the Beast packs cannot use optifine for they all crash with it.
FPSPlus+ V2 will not cause issues nor will Optileaves. These two are very good for this situation from my own testing.
Thanks for the information. Can you tell me if I leave out Biomes Of Pleanty and Mo Creatures.
Would I be able to install any other of the Mods on my list and be able to run without lag or MC crashing?

Thank you for the response, but is there any Mods on the list I would be able to install and play without MC lagging or crashing on me?

Yes! I would highly suggest leaving out Biomes of Plenty and Mo' Creatures. I recently did a patch job modpack for a LAN server because one person could not play normal large Feed the Beast modpacks due to ram limits. Basically it has the fun mods, such as Thaumcraft 4, IC2, Thermal Expansion, Railcraft and so on. We tested it for an hour and never did the custom modpack cause the laptop to hit a out of ram issue and performance on a Intel GMA965 with FPSPlus+ and Optileaves is rather amazing.
1.6.4 Minecraft is most poorly running version compared to 1.5 and 1.6. But in all though leave out those two mods.

Minimap, may work but put on lowest end settings.
I would suggest these mods as well.
Optileaves (Severely helps)

FPSPlus+ V2 (Helps considerably as well)

Some mods might crash/lag you, but i am not a computer guy. If any mods do lag/crash you. Just dont use them anymore.
