I've had the same problem. The way I got around this is by "painstakingly" casting aluminum ingots instead of blocks. I put three smelting drains with three casting tables and cast the ingots that way. It takes three times as long, but you still get the aluminum ingots. You can also use the crafting table to consolidate the these ingots into a block without worrying about this issue.

So I got a mix of mods including Tinker Construct, IC2 and Galacticraft
Everything worked fine until I started melting my Aluminum in a TC Smeltery.
Ingots are fine but blocks don't give me regular block but blocks that can be subdivided into raw aluminum.
First glance no problem, until I find out I can't do nothing with the raw aluminum except put it back into a block.
Here is the crazy part
1 block of Aluminum = 9 raw Aluminum
9 raw Aluminum = block of solid Ender
and the texure of the Block of solid Ender is the Cobalt block texture...
Anyone else had this problem?
If so, is there a fix?
