I posted this in the optifine thread but it appeared no one had an answer so i'll post it here. I have been using Optifine for half a year now since 1.2.5 and have had no issues previously. However since 1.4.6 I tried installing it and when I try to open up a world it freezes on "downloading terrain". I waited 2 minutes once and it finally said "Minecraft has Crashed!" and gave me a whole series of numbers. I tried using Magic Launcher with Optifine with no success. I tried force updating Minecraft, and reinstalling Optifine with no luck. Yes I deleted META-INF every single time. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

The same thing happens to me. i have tried using 3 different versions of optifine, and the same thing happenes every time. the problem seems to happen randomly. Earlier today it was working fine

interesing. i restored from a backup with the same mods from about 30 minutes ago, and now it works fine.

I found a fix! This was happening to me until i realized for some reason my render distance was on EXTREME! This may not work for you though.

Yes! Finally! After half a year of searching for an answer I finally get it to work. Thanks for the support guys.

I tried what you guys posts but mine still freezes. Yes, I have the same problem. It used to work fine, but now it does not work at all.
