I am playing with several different mods in Single player and I have just discovered that the crafting recipes for two different items are the same! I know there are ways to change item IDs if there are conflicts but is there anyway to change the crafting recipe of an item? One of them is a shape specific crafting recipe and the other one is shapeless. When I try to craft the item in a specific shape, it just gives me the shapeless craft-able item (if that makes sense)
If anyone has any pointers that would be enormously helpful. Thanks!

Usually mods come with config files, you should find them in your mod's folder inside the mods folder inside your minecraft folder. Open the config with a text editor and you should see a list of configurable ids.

I found the file, Its not an issue of item IDs though, the crafting recipe for two items is the same... i can acess the items without a problem in creative mode but I cannot create one of them in survival. One of them is a Steel ingot, crafted from 3 iron ingots placed anywhere in the crafting grid. The one that I cannot craft is a fork from another mod, the recipe is supposed to be 3 iron ingots in a diagonal line but it just gives me a steel ingot.
