Basically, i want to play Attack of the B-team modpack, but seeing as i have 32 bit os and can only allocate 1gb of ram to java, it runs out of memory very fast and ends up crashing .. is there ANYTHING i can do to prevent this? or am i pretty much just screwed.

You should be able to allocate about 1.2 GB to Java (use -Xmx1200M) without it throwing an error. See if that helps. Otherwise, you are probably out of luck. You should also install Optifine if its compatible as it has better memory management.
