Hi, I'm trying to install Single Player Command and Forge Mod for minecraft 1.7.2, I followed the instuctions exept for the ''Bin folder'' thing, obviously there's no bin folder in Minecraft. So I guess they meant ''Versions folder''.
So, I copy every files i'm told to copy inside 1.7.2.jar then, delete Meta-Inf.
Close the folders, then start the game on 1.7.2 (Profile edited.)
But when I run the game the mods are never installed.
When I go look to my 1.7.2.jar folder the files I copied are no longer in and there meta-inf is back.
What do I do?
Also notice that I uninstalled and re-installed minecraft
ok you obviously don't know that the new versions changed the minecraft file system.
you have to use the forge installer or it becomes difficult.
and make sure you are using updated mods and are using forge compatable mods
Okay so you don't know how to mod the new versions but don't worries its harder but not that much harder so ill tell you how
-navigate to your .minecraft and then find versions amd then go into it.
-choose the version you want and copy and past it then name the folder the name of what you want the version to be called i will name it "MODS".
YOU MUST NOT NAME IT THE SAME AS ANY OTHER VERSION YOU HAVE.
-then go into the folder you just made you will see a jar folder and a .jason first name the .jason file to what ever you named the folder the that you created for me it will be "MODS" and do the same for the jar folder.
-now the .jason file will be opened with notepad,notepad++ or anything like that. left click the ,.jason file and click open with then click note pad,notepad++ or something like that and it will open.
-now on the first line of codeing you will see
{
"id": "version name",
now where version name is write the name of the folder you created at the start for me it will be "MODS"
now that's the hard part done with forge open the jar folder with win-ra and drag the contents of the forge folder into it the forge will need to be opened with win-ra as-well close everything to do with mine craft and start up mine craft
-in the mine craft launcher on the bottom left of the launcher you will see new profile click it and it will bring up a GUI
you will only need to edit theses things profile name and new version
-first profile name will be the name of this mod like 1.7.2 and stuff like that so name it what ever as for versions in it you will see a list of versions the one you want will be what ever you named the folder you created at the start my one will be "MODS" click it then save profile above the new profile and edit profile there will be a thing that says profile choose the newly made profile and lode it up so forge can set it self up
-if you want or need to add more mods treat the jar folder you named before the one is the versions folder like the mine craft .jar now i think the mods folder with be in .minecraft like normal but i am not sure
HOPE I HELPED ENJOY MODDING
