My minecraft.jar isn't downloading

Okay so, I had a bug with some mods and it crashed my Minecraft, so I re-downloaded it and I couldn't get Forge because it said "You need to run Version (Whatever version) manually at least once."
Any idea how to fix this so that I can mod again?

Run vanilla minecraft 1.7.2 once (or whatever version its asking you) and then try installing Forge again.
