Hi, I'm new to this so sorry if I do it wrong…. I am trying to get pixelmon for my 9 yr old son. From what I understand I need to have forge to run mods so I went through all the steps listed on a youtube vid I watched and all went well until I hit play in the launcher window. It loads up but before I get to the game it just goes back to the launcher window. I am using OSX 10.7.5 and forge 1.7.2 and I was intending to use Pixelmon 2.5 but obviously haven't gotten that far yet. where did you get forge for 1.7.2? I'm pretty sure it hasn't come out yet.
Did something come up about a crash?

I'm pretty sure PixelMon cannot be run on 1.7.2, though, as PixelMon 1.6.4 is the latest version to be released. If you want your son to be able to play the mod, you should probably mod the 1.6.4 version of the game.

Forge 1.7.2 has not been released officially yet on minecraftforge.com , plus when I used those sorts of sites, forge couldn't run mods like Minecraft Comes Alive.

Not one stated it was released officially on minecraftforge.net. The beta is available.

I'm having the same issue. Is it because 1.7.2 Forge is still in Beta or what?

The people behind sites like 9minecraft and such do not actually have access to the beta version of forge. They somehow create a version themselves, created to run only for the mods that have been downloaded from their site. Even if you get the same mod that is on their site but from a different source it will not work, because they have coded their forge to only be compatible to the mods that they release.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I tried the 1.6.4 to run forge (the tutorial tells me to create a version 1.6.4 profile?) but I will give it another go.

Your previous post replying to me is on a subject matter we were not even discussing. I did not ask about how 9minecraft deals with Forge, and no one stated that is where they got their copy of Forge or any mod for Minecraft.

1.6.4 is the version I (and most people, I think) use for mods, so it should work. If not let me know what the problem is and I'll see how I can be of assistance.

Finding crash reports is very easy. You can find crash reports under your .minecraft folder. Use your start menu to search or run '%appdata%', click '.minecraft', and then navigate to 'crash reports' and copy/paste your crash report here. In a spoiler, preferably.

Thank you everyone, I have sorted the problem by redoing everything using the 1.6.4 versions. I have one happy kid now. I appreciate everyones help/comments.

I also have the same thing execpt the exit code is 0 instead of 1
