Hola everyone!
I am a major noob to minecraft, and I am having a ton of issues trying to download Single Player Commands.
This is the first mod I've ever downloaded and I've probably tried almost 10 different tutorials numerous times. I've tried using older versions and nothing seems to work, or I'm looking over something that should be totally obvious.
Brief summary of what I've tried to do so far:
Copied the version and renamed it 1.7.4SPC (or whatever the tutorial asked)
Changed both the files inside (.jar and .json) to the same name as the folder
Changed the version in the .json file to the same name as the folder and the files
opened the .jar file using archive utility (comes with mac)
deleted the META-INF folder (have also tried doing it by just deleting the two MOJANG files, but not the manifest one)
unzipping the single player commands .zip
putting all of the files in there except the worldedit one
compressing all of the files again (to a .zip)
deleting the 1.7.4SPC folder (that came from using archive utility to open the .jar file)
deleting 1.7.4SPC.jar
renaming the .zip to 1.7.4SPC.jar (yes, changing the filetype)
gone back to the my main minecraft folder, created a folder there called 'bin' and put world edit in that
booted up minecraft
tried to both edit my profile and create a new one that should be called 1.7.4SPC and there never ever is one.
NOTE:
I have tried to do this with 1.7.4, 1.7.2, and 1.6.2.
Doing 1.7.2 and 1.6.2 meant i had to boot up a game of that version and then copy that folder instead of the 1.7.4 one.
I'm so utterly lost, someone help pretty pretty please!

You think magic isn't real? Consider this: for every person, there is a sentence -- a series of words -- which has the power to destroy them.
Yes, but like I said I tried it with 1.6.2 and it didn't work.
