Hello! I don't know if im posting this in the right place or not, but here I go anyway.

I have been trying to install mods on my minecraft. NOTHING EVER WORKS FOR ME
I have gotten forge and used WinRAR to do everything the tutorial said(open minecraft.jar, ect)
Then, nothing happened
then I noticed a folder called, "mods" so I thought that was the key, but nope.
I am trying to get the cjb qiuckcraft so I can craft better with my 360 controller, I managed an add on called "minecontrol".
So I want help to install this mod for minecraft 1.7.4 on windows 8 gateway computer. 64 bit. I think that helped, but if it didn't just disregard it. Please help meeeee

Well it's as simple as this,It's for 1.6.4

ok so I can choose to run that version if I wanted, which I have tried, and nothing works, I tried doing the thing that you copy the version and mod it to play it, and the version doesn't show up in the profile creator or editor. Just, if anyone knows how to do this, please help me. I just want to mod. (good lord I sound weird right now)

LOL. YOu don't sound weird. We have all been there. Luckily for you, modding is MUCH easier now than it used to be. First, go to minecraftforge.net and download the latest version for 1.6.4. you MUST install the installer, otherwise it will be harder than it needs to be. Then, install the client files with the installer. After it is installed, select the minecraft version that has forge in the name. Like so:



Then, run the game once. After that, put any mods in the mods folder! Its THAT easy!

ugh im sorry I don't know how to "install" it as it is a zip file and not an app. I assume u mean using the method of copying 1.6.4 version and modding that, correct? and if so, please tell me how

YESSSSS I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!!! I got forge and did what you said thank you

damn it. I don't know why, but even though I copied and edited all the files the right way AND have forge working, the game crashes whenever I try to load Quickcraft! I have the API that's required and everything, so why won't it work?! someone please help me out if you can. it would be appreciated.
