OK so I've been playing a lot of Big Dig recently. It has been a lot of fun. I've been having this issue though. My memory will constantly increase and then shoot back down to a random amount. Sometimes, my MC will freeze for a few seconds (5-10) and then continue again. It was set at 1GB allocation by default, and it would go to about 930MB to 978MB. Thats when I noticed the problem. So I changed the Tekkit settings to allocate 3GB. Mind you, on 1GB, MC would be around 500-800MB used. I put it at 2GB and it now sits up at 2-2.5GB, which isn't a problem, I just figured I'd mention it in case it means anything. But now it freezes up at 94-97% of memory, which is at about 2700-2900MB. I would be posting this on the Big Dig forums, but I'm currently trying to figure out if its happening in normal Minecraft.
