I am using Minecraft 1.4.2 and optifine, and when I enter the nether, I will a lot of the times have stable fps but there will be one continuous lag spike that can last for two seconds or more. The game will just completely freeze for two seconds. It is very annoying and I have died many times from it. It only happens in the nether. Someone please help. If my specs are needed, here they are:
- AMD Sapphire Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3
- Core 2 Duo e6600 2.4 Ghz
- 750 GB SATA 7200RPM HDD
These specs should be more than enough to have a pretty much lag free experience, so I am wondering why I am having these spikes. Thank you all for the help in advance.
I'm assuming that the lag spikes happen when you're generating new chunks. As far as I know, this happens to everyone (Even me with an i3 2120 and Radeon 6870) and there's no work around to it besides just not generating new chunks.
