Can someone help me understand what is going on. Team fortress 2 runs on high at every option and still gets 40-60 fps. Minecraft runs at about 25-40 fps on normal.
I got a new laptop 2 days ago. It is the Dell Inspiron 15.
My Specs are: Intel Pentium 2127U @1.9 GHZ (<----Could this be the problem?)
Intel HD Graphics 2500
4 GB of Ram
500 GB hard drive
I Think its weird that is does this. TF2 is a more graphical game than minecraft but it gets higher FPS on high in every setting. I have optifine installed and i allocated 2 gb of ram in the feed the beast options. If i get more ram, will this boost it so i get higher fps. (The RAM in my laptop is a 4 GB Ram Stick. It still has one more slot for another RAM stick.) Can someone help me figure out how to boost my fps incredibly.?
To be honest, the whole laptop is really bad. Laptops are generally not for gaming at all, and you're running it on an integrated graphics card which is horrible for gaming. How you are managing 25-40 FPS on normal is beyond me. Increasing ram will not help after a certain amount. I have 150 mods installed on my computer and have 2.5 gigabytes of ram allocated only because I would get out of memory errors if I didn't, not for FPS. For vanilla Minecraft, anything over 1 gigabyte is pretty much wasted.
As for TF2 playing well, it's because it's very well coded and optimized. I'm not an expert in coding and whatever, but Minecraft does a lot of checks constantly (like lighting to see if mobs can spawn and whatnot) and that can be a little intensive.
I had Optifine but i had to reinstall the unleashed mod pack for some reason. This just proves i can get into the 30+ range. optifine gets me to about 40 but tf2 runs at about 60 FPS

it most likely that your cpu is not that great. but having 40 fps with ftb mods is great! I use a laptop also and have 130 mods... and i get about 20 fps average
So is the overall culprit my CPU. It cant be the Intel HD 2500 because i can run steam games pretty good (L4D2, gmod, Tf2, No more room in Hell, ECT.) Is there anything i can do do help speed up Minecraft. Like can i download a texture pack because i herd that sometimes that helps or that it makes it worse. Is there any mod OTHER THAN OPTIFINE that will help. I already have optifine
Go in the FTB launcher and go to the tab "Options." At the bottom, click Advanced Options. A window will pop up and one of the boxes will say "Additional Java Parameters" and you can go ahead and paste them in there.
Hmmm... It doesnt seem to like loading.... I added the mod, did the parameters, but i cant seem to get the mod to load into the game. I checked to see if its active but its not. Any suggestions? (Dont be afraid to get technical, Im good with computers.)
I haven't tested this and I can't because the FTB launcher isn't loading the packs for me but it looks like the mod is a jar mod, not a forge mod that goes in the mods folder. Try adding it in the jar mods tab that you should get when you're editing a pack.

not really....
minecraft is more cpu heavy then most games out there, mostly because like Baconboy2015 said
